Xylene, also known as dimethylbenzene, is a low-boiling aromatic solvent and has multiple uses in industry. Xylene is a common constituent of ink, rubber, and adhesives in the printing, rubber and leather industries. It is also a well-known cleaning agent, and paraffin solvent in the petroleum industry.
